Southland Hospital
Southland Hospital is owned and operated by Southern DHB, through its 'provider arm'. Situated on Kew Road, Invercargill City, Southland Hospital is a modern, state-of-the-art, level 4 base hospital with 181 beds. The hospital opened in late 2004 following an extensive re-development project. Southland Hospital is well equipped for its size and features modern medical imaging technology, including MRI, CT and Ultrasound capability and a Digital Radiology system (PACS), as well an electronic patient management system (iPM). A range of services are provided from Southland Hospital, including acute medical and surgical, outpatient clinics, day procedures, 24-hour emergency department, mental health inpatient care, medical imaging diagnostics, specialist paediatric, maternity, rehabilitation and therapy services. Southland Hospital is a University teaching facility and provides a training ground for medical interns, medical staff, nursing, midwifery, and allied health students.
