
Hospital Services
The following information relates to the hospital and health services provided by Southern DHB's Southland 'Provider Arm'. All Southern DHB hospital and health facilities have Ministry of Health Certification. This means that our facilities have been independently approved and certified as providing safe health and disability services to the public, as required under the Health and Disability Service (Safety) Act 2001. Our hospital and health facilities also have Quality Health New Zealand Accreditation status, which reflects Southern DHB's commitment to continuous quality improvement in Health and Disability Services. As a provider of health services, we are continually working to further improve clinical quality and safety of the services we provide to our patients and consumers. Southern DHB's 'Provider Arm' in Southland is managed by the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Medical Officer and the Regional Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, who sit on the Regional Executive Management Team. Clinical services at Southland Hospital and Lakes District Hospital are arranged under four divisions: Women and Children's Health, Surgical Services, Medical Services and Mental Health Services. Each division's Clinical Leadership Team includes a Divisional Director (medical leader), a Director of Nursing and a Divisional Manager. Management Team:
