Our Emergency Department is a Level 4 care provider, managing approximately 37,000 patients annually, with a full case-mix including major trauma. Consultant cover is provided by 7 FACEM’s who are on the floor 15h a day 7 days a week. We are accredited with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine for 12 months of advanced training, and we run both part I and part II examination preparation training, in addition to quarantined weekly registrar training. Registrars who have worked in ED are eligible to apply for rotations in other specialties in Southland Hospital, including Anaesthesia, Paediatrics, and Medicine.

Successful applicants are expected to have a minimum of 2.5 years of postgraduate medical experience before starting, including at least 6 months ED experience. ACEM trainees and those seeking a term of 12 months or more are preferred. Please state your start date availability in your application
