This is a unique opportunity with loads of variety within our Oral Health Service. You will cover both our Dental Unit and Community Adolescent clinic and there will be times where you’ll be asked to provide assistance to the Community Oral Health Team, working with Dental Therapists based in schools or mobile dental units in the wider Southern area.
This role encompasses clinical (chair-side assistance) and administrative support and a key focus of this role is ensuring a safe and clean environment is provided for patients, staff and visitors following SDHB policy.
You must have excellent interpersonal, computer and time management skills and an awareness of the need for confidentiality of patient information. As part of our team you will be self-motivated with good organisational skills and a participatory team member.
Ideally you will have current experience and be working as a qualified Dental Assistant within a private practice or a hospital setting, however we are willing to train someone who has the right attributes, and who is willing to work towards a Certificate in Dental Assisting. Please note a full current driver licence is essential.
You will have the flexibility to work between the hours of 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and participate in the weekend on-call roster.
