A leadership opportunity is now available as General Manager in the newly created Medicine and Women’s & Children’s Health Directorate. While having overall directorate management responsibilities, our GM roles work in partnership with Medical, Nursing and Allied Health leaders from both operational and professional leadership perspectives.
Highlighted in the position description are key requirements, such as “strategic, leading, operational, managing, contemporary, high quality, networking, district wide perspective and placing decision making processes close to where care happens”. Crucial to a positive outcome for us is that unique blend of being an approachable people person who is comfortable taking a lead role, with the added challenge of being able to deliver the goods within the allocated resources of time, people and money.
Is the role challenging? Absolutely! But the appetite for getting things right at Southern DHB is strong and we seek applications from appropriately experienced, qualified and talented individuals – preferably with experience relevant to Medicine and/or Women’s & Children’s Health who are looking to further their career with an invigorated organisation that is setting a new direction.
