Theatre Suite Assistant – Main Operating Theatre
- Permanent, 1 FTE (40 Hours per week)
- Join our multidisciplinary team
- Rostered Shifts
Our team in the Main Operating Theatre seek a self-starter with a can do attitude who enjoys an action packed environment for this physically demanding role.
In this important role you’ll help with a range of tasks including:
- Restocking and setting up of equipment
- Patient handling and transfers
- Collecting specimens and blood
- Answering phones, and more.
The Main Operating Theatre operates Monday to Sunday. Your contribution to the unit will ensure that operations run to schedule and are well prepared so that our surgeons and clinical staff are able to perform their magic. The Theatre Suite Assistants are on rostered shifts predominately 8 or 10 hour shifts but may include some 6 hour shifts. The hours are worked Monday to Sunday with start times between 7am and 3 pm.
As noted above this is a physically demanding role, e.g. relocating beds/manual handling of patients, and as the role title implies, you’ll spend a portion of your time in the operating theatre. The team is supportive and friendly, and the opportunity to gain great job satisfaction is huge if you enjoy working at a fast pace and under pressure.
This position would suit someone (but is not restricted to) with existing hospital experience, however we’re happy to look wider. Being computer literate is preferred, and full training of our systems will be given.
