Join the supportive team in the acute inpatient mental health environment where each day will be different and challenging. The positon will be based in Ward 9C is an open 16 bed inpatient facility providing care for people with a diverse range of mental health presentations, including mothers and babies and youth to general adult mental health. The role will provide support and leadership to both ward 9b and 9c and be between the hours of 1 pm and 9.30 pm, Thursday to Monday.
The clinical nurse specialist will role model specialist mental health nursing care based on substantial theoretical knowledge in a mental health setting and work with nursing staff to continually develop practice. You will also be involved in maintaining the ongoing development of ward treatment programmes within a SafeWards frame work.
The successful applicant will be Level Four (expert) (or working towards) on the Southern District Health Board Professional Development Programme. In addition to your nursing qualifications you will also have a minimum of a post graduate diploma relevant to mental health.
