Neurology

 

Introduction

The Neurology service provides specialist inpatient and outpatient services to patients who have medical conditions of the nervous system.  Neuroscience nurse specialists also form part of the team providing advice and support to patients who have chronic conditions.

Outreach clinics have been commenced at the rural hospitals on a regular basis.

An acute service for emergencies is provided 24 hours day and non-urgent services are accepted from general practitioners according to access criteria which assists to prioritise urgency of the referral.
