Pain Services

Introduction

The Pain Service is an outpatient service for the evaluation of patients with persistent pain.  Our team of health professionals provide comprehensive pain assessments to develop holistic treatment and management plans.

The team comprises a pain medicine specialist and allied health professionals (Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist).

Management of complex pain problems requires a multidisciplinary approach to:

  • Prescribe and adjust medications
  • Provide education about the nature of the problem
  • Provide rehabilitation to improve quality of life and performance of daily activities.

Your General Practitioner can refer you to the Pain Service to obtain advice on the assessment and treatment of a pain condition
