Occupational Therapy

Introduction

Occupational Therapists work with people of all ages and their families / whanau to assist them to manage their home or work environment following an illness or injury.

 

This can include assisting people to learn new ways of doing things, adapting their home environment or providing equipment to support independence including specialised wheelchair assessments or specialised equipment.

 

Occupational Therapists work in a range of practice areas including  inpatient hospitals, mental health, rehabilitation and the community setting.

   

Location

Occupational Therapists operate within various locations within Dunedin and Wakari Hospitals as well as in community settings.
