Get in the Game - October 11

Get in the Game: Training for Happiness
World Mental Health Day/Mental Health Awareness Week Events 2011

October 10th is World Mental Health Day.  Established by the World Federation for Mental Health, and recognised as an international observance day by the United Nations, World Mental Health Day sees thousands of people around the world advocating for improved mental health and joining in public events aimed at improving wellbeing.

In New Zealand we celebrate World Mental Health Day as part of Mental Health Awareness Week from the 10th - 16th October.  The New Zealand theme is co-ordinated by the Mental Health Foundation, who this year have chosen "Get in the Game: Training for Happiness".  Full information on the theme and supporting resources are available on the Mental Health Foundation website.

Locally, a number of organisations are celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week this year.  Details of events are listed below.

More information on additional events will be added as event details are confirmed, so please check back regularly. If you would like to suggest additional events to be listed here, please contact us.
