Health Care Assistant – IMAU (In-patient Medical Assessment Unit)
- Fixed-term opportunity until 24 February 2020
- Part-time 0.8FTE (32 hours per week)
We are looking for a positive and proactive Health Care Assistant to support our IMAU team at Dunedin Hospital.
This role will see you primarily focusing your attention to the overall needs of the unit. This is a varied role within a clinical environment and as an exceptional team player you will need to be able to take instruction and direction from the nurses on the ward, whilst having a helpful and team focused approach to making a difference to the environment and care provided the patients under our care.
As Health Care Assistant you will be involved in:
- Supporting our nurses and other members of the healthcare team
- Patient supervision and/or movement
- Clerical duties as required
- Stock reconciliation
- Ward maintenance
We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who are dynamic, friendly and demonstrate a high level of initiative who wish to join a service that is supportive, friendly, committed to high standards of practice and supports on-going professional development. You will be well organised, have a friendly attitude and excellent communication skills are essential.
We are a friendly and inclusive team and you will receive a full orientation onto the ward and training in all aspects of the role.
