- Dunedin Hospital
- Permanent Part-time to full time option
An exciting opportunity has arisen through retirement for a general Radiologist to join the Southern DHB Radiology team based at Dunedin Hospital
The Southern DHB Radiology Service is provided to a population of approximately 310,000 people over the lower South Island. The two main hospitals in the region are located in Dunedin and Invercargill cities and both are affiliated with the University of Otago Medical School and have opportunities for teaching and research. Dunedin Hospital is a tertiary level hospital with 360 beds and provides all major specialties. We offer a full range of imaging modalities based on a digital RIS / PACS system.
The successful candidate will have the general suite of radiologist skills and it is desirable that they will also have interventional skills but is not essential. This role will include routine daytime hours and also an evening shift rotation shared amongst the establishment of Radiologists.
The nature of the work will be predominantly emergency and inpatient cases and will involve the supervision of radiology registrars working alongside you. You would be expected to support and participate in radiology service and quality initiatives as part of your role.
Southern DHB is affiliated with the Otago Medical School and Dunedin Hospital provides training to Registrars from the Royal Australasian College of Radiologists, so we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about teaching and passing on their knowledge to junior members of staff.
As an outstanding team player, you'll have the energy to make a positive difference with both patients and colleagues alike. In addition to enjoying a challenging and varied workload, you can look forward to a competitive pay rate and a culture where staff are included, valued and respected for their expertise.
Dunedin is a great little city with a big town feel and well-known for its Southern Hospitality, with some of New Zealand’s most famous scenery and holiday spots on your doorstep (Queenstown, Wanaka, Milford Sound, Stewart Island, to name but a few). The Southern region offers affordable living, great schools, and a relaxed way of life with no traffic jams in sight.
You must have FRANZCR qualified (or equivalent) and hold, or be eligible for, vocational registration with Medical Council of NZ. Candidates from outside of NZ are encouraged to apply and our experienced Recruitment Advisors are happy to answer your questions about coming to live and work with Southern DHB.
