Are you looking for a new challenge? Southern District Health Board has an exciting opportunity for you to make your mark. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced pharmacist to join our friendly team in Southland Hospital.
We are a community-orientated hospital (not too big and not too small) providing a full range of secondary care services including general dispensary pharmacy, drug information and advice, education and counselling, and extemporaneous manufacture. In this environment you will be encouraged to have a go at everything, which will both challenge and extend your clinical experience and skills. We provide a wide range of clinical services encompassing both generalist and specialist skills so there’s no better place to move your career forward.
You will have the ability to work and contribute as part of a team, have excellent time management skills, be a great communicator in verbal and in written language adapting to the need to the audience, and very high standard of ethical and professional practice. A mature approach is essential as is having the ability to adapt to an ever changing health environment.
Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred but not absolutely essential as we may be able to offer full orientation to hospital pharmacy practice for the right candidate. You must however be registered or eligible to register as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand under the provisions of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, with the right to work in New Zealand.
Now is a great time to relocate to Southern if you were considering a move! The Southern district offers the benefits of excellent amenities, first class primary through to tertiary education, affordable housing and outstanding recreational opportunities. Whether it is surfing, kayaking or sailing; skiing, hunting or fishing; theatre, live-music or art – there’s literally something for everyone. Check out https://southernhealthcareers.nz/ for what the region and we can offer you and your whanau.
Do you have a passion for quality improvement, medication safety or clinical training/supervision? If you do, this is the position for you. We would also love to hear what skills, passions and interests you have that you could bring to our DHB so don’t delay.
