Dietitian - Clinical Dietitian Team
Southland Hospital

  • Fulltime (1.0 FTE / 40hours per week)

Southern District Health Board (Southern DHB) exists to support everyone across our district to live well, and access the right care when they need it, by delivering high quality, patient-centred and equitable health services to our diverse communities.

The Southland Dietetic Team is a close-knit dedicated team of professionals with the same interests as you – “putting the patient at the centre of everything that they do”.

We welcome applications from New Zealand Registered Dietitians with prescriber endorsement, and a current APC to join our Dietetic Team at Southland Hospital, Invercargill. With a focus on acute adult inpatient care this exciting and challenging role will capitalise on your passion for dietetics in the surgical, medical and diabetes focused care settings.
This role would be a great opportunity for a New Graduate or early career practitioner to join our team of experienced Dietitians.

We offer supervision and mentoring with our Interprofessional New Graduate Support (Allied Health, Scientific & Technical) Programme, and opportunities for ongoing professional development. The team works closely with Dietitian colleagues in Dunedin and across the Southern district / community.

You'll have clear and open communication skills that allow you to foster positive relationships with patients, whanau and the wider MDT. We are looking for a highly motivated enthusiastic team player who is willing to take on new challenges and continue to raise the profile for dietetics.

If you are a self-motivated efficient and productive person with excellent time management skills and able to prioritise and manage a busy case load, and bring energy and enthusiasm, we would love to hear from you.

Now to the city itself, Invercargill offers the opportunity to have the lifestyle you’ve always dreamed of. Boasting competitive cost of living and a beautiful coastline, the outdoors at your doorstep, life can be as relaxed or as energetic as you want. Our team enjoy the short, flat commute to work, leaving ample time for what matters to you most. Add to this the close proximity to some of New Zealand’s most famous scenery and holiday destinations (think Queenstown, Wanaka and Milford Sound to name but a few!) you can go from seaside to ski-slopes in a matter of hours.

Sounds too good to be true? Rest assured, you can have it all here. Why not come see for yourself!

Closing Date: Sunday, 23 June 2019
