Ward 7A & B is a fast paced and dynamic acute Respiratory/Thoracic/Cardiac area. We are inviting applications from current Southern DHB staff to join us as a Health Care Assistant on a part-time permanent basis. This role would be for 8 hours per week (0.2 FTE) so would be ideal for someone who currently works on a part-time basis that wishes to increase their hours, and gain additional and valuable experience in a new service.

This role will see you primarily focusing your attention to the overall needs of the unit. This is a varied role within a clinical environment and as an exceptional team player you will need to be able to take instruction and direction from the nurses on the ward, whilst having a helpful and team focused approach to making a difference to the environment and care provided the patients under our care.

As Health Care Assistant you will be involved in:

 

  • Supporting our nurses and other members of the healthcare team
  • Patient supervision and/or movement
  • Clerical duties as required
  • Stock reconciliation
  • Ward maintenance
