Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist – Hand Therapy

  • Permanent, part-time position

Picture this….you’re a NZ registered Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist working in a supportive and friendly team environment, committed to quality patient-centred care and at the same time having fun. On weekends you have an array of outdoor and recreational pursuits such as skiing, water-sports and tramping, just a short drive from your doorstep!

If this sounds appealing.... then come and join us!

We have a vacancy in our Outpatient Hand Therapy Team; ideally you will bring to us a minimum of 2 years’ experience that includes working within any of the settings of Hand Therapy and / or Burns & Scar Management, Orthopaedics, Rehabilitation or Musculoskeletal Outpatients. Preferably, you would be a Hand Therapist or working towards a Hand Therapy registration.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm for Hand Therapy, who enjoys working as part of an established team, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and is driven and proactive in their ongoing development of advanced skills. We are looking for someone who can work autonomously, manage and prioritise their caseload within the outpatient setting.

The Hand Therapy role involves working with a wide range of patients referred from the Orthopaedic, Plastics and Rheumatology Services, as well as GP and community referrals and first presentation ACC injuries. You will be based in our Physiotherapy Outpatient Department with our experienced team of Hand Therapists and Physiotherapists, and liaise with Inpatient Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff to manage acute hands and burns patients in the inpatient setting.
