Our Pharmacy Department at Dunedin Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic person to join our friendly and supportive team as a Pharmacy Technician on a permanent full-time basis.

About the Role – what’s in it for me?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified pharmacy technician to join our team to assist in the day to day operation of our Aseptic Production Unit.  The role will include all aspects of our Aseptic Production Unit and Hospital Pharmacy dispensary and includes stock control, ward supply, in and out patient dispensing, sterile, cytotoxic and non-sterile compounding and assisting in the general day to day running of the aseptic production unit.  


About You

If you hold an appropriate New Zealand recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification (level 5), are a compounding technician or have worked in an aseptic compounding facility we would love to hear from you.


Hospital experience is preferred although not essential and you will possess strong time management, planning, and organisational skills. Naturally you will be an excellent communicator and strong team player.  We are looking for someone who picks things up quickly, can perform in an accurate and precise manner and works well within a diverse environment.

To succeed in this role you will need to have:

  • Appropriate New Zealand recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification
  • Previous experience in sterile/cytotoxic compounding would be an advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
