Dunedin Hospital

  • Part-time 0.6 FTE vacancy (24 hours per week)

 

We are seeking a highly motivated Registered Nurse to join our friendly team in Dunedin Hospital on a permanent part-time basis.

 

About the Service

The Oncology/Haematology Service is a busy, challenging but rewarding place to work and comprises of the acute Oncology/Haematology in-patient ward, Oncology Day Unit, Outpatient Clinics and Radiation Therapy treatment areas.

 

About the Role – what’s in it for me?

This ward-based position involves the care of medical oncology, radiation oncology and haematology patients receiving chemotherapy, supportive or radiation therapy.  Some of the key nursing tasks are: comprehensive patient assessment; administration of chemotherapy and associated supportive therapies or procedures; symptom control and management; patient education; and psychosocial assessment and support.

 

About You

We’re looking for someone who is experienced and organised, friendly and calm, able to work independently and at the same time genuinely interested in the best outcome for both patient and team. 

  • Must have current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a current APC, with the right to work in New Zealand.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals.
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused.
  • Previous acute Oncology/Haematology experience is essential, and you must have at least 1 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse.

Please note the salary for this position will be between $54,034 - $72,945 per annum (pro rata), as per the NZNO MECA Registered Nurses scale, and will be based on relevant experience.
