About the team
The outpatient physiotherapy team at Dunedin Hospital are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist who is keen to grow their clinical and professional skills in the field of Hand Therapy.  We seek a team-player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is driven and proactive in developing and learning.

About you
Ideally you will bring to us a minimum of two years’ experience that includes working within the area of any of the settings of: burns and scar management, orthopaedics, rehabilitation or musculoskeletal outpatients, and is looking to further their career in this field. We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of an established team, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and is driven and proactive in their ongoing development of advanced skills. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm for Hand Therapy and we seek someone who can work autonomously, manage and prioritise their caseload within the outpatient setting while supporting the growth of students, junior staff and the Allied Health Assistant workforce.

About the role – What's in it for me?
This role involves working with a wide range of patients referred from the orthopaedic, plastics and rheumatology services, as well as GP and community referrals and first presentation ACC injuries. You will be based in our physiotherapy outpatient department with our experienced team of hand therapists and physiotherapists, and liaise with inpatient occupational therapy and physiotherapy staff to manage acute hands and burns patients in the inpatient setting. 

We take pride in supporting our staff to grow as clinicians so we run a well-developed on-going support and professional development programme. The team provides regular in-services, a comprehensive on-call competency training framework, senior staff mentoring & peer review and access to course and conference funding.
