RMO (Resident Medical Officers) - Recruitment Advisor
- Dunedin or Southland Hospital based
- Busy fun office environment
About the opportunity
Do you like herding cats? Do you have patience and can stay calm under pressure? This role will have you donkey-deep in process, but you will also have some fun dealing with a range of international and local candidates and internal customers.
As part of our district-wide RMO Unit focused on sourcing resident doctors from within New Zealand and internationally you will work side by side with an experienced team of advisors. Your mission? To help us make great hiring decisions as efficiently as possible and give our prospective candidates a great experience as they consider joining us here at Southern in the next stage of their medical careers.
Our ideal applicant
We need someone with excellent admin and coordination skills who is ready to manage their own portfolio of work, and ideally is interested in sourcing and recruitment. This is a busy professional office so you will need to enjoy being part of a team that works together as well as independently to achieve team goals. Maybe you are looking for something a bit different where you can apply your outstanding time, process management and organisation skills to great advantage and make a real difference to the health of our communities! There’s a fair bit of process and procedure to navigate so if you like ticking boxes, following timelines, monitoring progress and compliance and problem solving on the fly, this could be just the challenge you are looking for. Accuracy, judgment and confidentiality are essential. While this is an administration-heavy role, you will need to learn fast, retain knowledge as well as anticipate roadblocks. The ability to build rapport and trust with potential and new employees will ensure we are making progress in this key area of recruitment for our future talent pipeline of doctors. Skills or interest in writing advertisements and social media marketing would be very useful in this role too.
We are open to your background – it might be travel, general admin or team coordination in sales or marketing, or resourcing or you might be a graduate looking for a role to get your teeth into within the fascinating field of health. To be considered for this role, please apply online with a full CV and cover letter describing the skills you bring, the roles you’ve held that make you our ideal candidate and why YOU are the new team member we need. There’s lots to look forward to in 2020 so apply now!
You can be based in either Dunedin or Invercargill where both options offer wonderful lifestyle, affordable housing, no traffic congestion and with all the amenities of much bigger cities.
The Southern DHB has the largest regional coverage of all the New Zealand health boards, providing services to over 315,000 people.
