We are now seeking applications from dynamic and career driven Registered Nurses, preferably with experience in Urology or a strong desire to grow in this area, to help us continue to provide top quality, patient centred care on a permanent basis in a Clinical Nurse Specialist role.
About the Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will promote quality nursing care through research based practice and be responsible for patient care and quality improvement initiatives. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team, educating and sharing knowledge with patients and outpatients staff so outstanding relationship-building skills are essential. From answering patient queries, ordering tests and coordinating referrals, to following up pathology reports and holding nurse led clinics, there is plenty of diversity and interaction to put your skills to the test. In addition, as we are closely linked with the Otago University Medical School and Otago Polytechnic, there will be an abundance of opportunities put your hand to educating others.
The role calls for someone willing to advocate for patients and who strives to improve efficiency in the patient journey, so whether you are behind the scenes or on the floor, you will have ample opportunity to make a difference for staff and patients alike.

We are looking for a positive and confident Registered Nurse who has the drive and enthusiasm to motivate staff and engage them in their clinical development; you will be a respected professional in your own right, and an exceptional team member with strong communication skills. It is vital that you have an in-depth knowledge of urology pathophysiology, anatomy and conditions
To be considered for the role you will be a committed team member with a passion for modelling quality nursing practise. You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills and have a minimum of 5 years practice within the defined scope of clinical speciality, and a post graduate diploma (or working towards) and/or a master’s degree. It is also expected that you will have achieved / or be working towards Level 3 / 4 PDRP.
