Administration Officer – Main Operating Theatre
Dunedin Hospital

Are you an experienced administrator or someone who is adaptable and a quick learner? We have an exciting full time, administration role in our Perioperative Service based in Main Operating Theatre and are on the lookout for someone to join us on a permanent basis.

About the opportunity
Duties include administrative support and reception duties, for example; entering patient information into our Intra-Op system, relaying messages, word-processing and at times medical typing may be required. Additionally, as reception is at the hub of the theatre service, our administrator also coordinates and allocates tasks to the theatre suite assistant team. For example, collecting blood from the labs and patient transfers to and from the operating theatre. This is a very busy and vibrant environment where you must be able to think on your feet, be able to multitask and be ready for any challenge that comes your way. 

The salary range (per annum) for this position is based on the PSA South Island Administrative MECA, S3, $36,329 to $42,740 and will be based on relevant experience and skills. 

About you
You’ll be confident, able to communicate professionally, have excellent attention to detail, be helpful and enjoy the busy-ness and variety that this role offers. In your application please provide examples where your attention to detail, customer service ethic and high standards of computer literacy and familiarity with medical terminology have been applied to previous roles you’ve held.
