Our Clinical Engineering team are on the lookout for an experienced Clinical Engineer to service and maintain a wide variety of medical equipment; From vital signs monitors and defibrillators, to Anaesthetic machines and Ventilators, there is diversity aplenty at Southland Hospital to keep you on your toes!
About the opportunity
This is a full time role, responsible for repair, maintenance and calibration of medical equipment along with performance testing to the required national standards. You will be expected to work closely with the customer to resolve technical issues and offer advice as appropriate.
Medical Equipment advances quite rapidly in terms of functionality and sophistication, so you’ll need to be willing to undergo ongoing technical training as provided. As much of our equipment is becoming networked computer literacy and knowledge of general IT network structure is important. You will be a focused person who is process driven, able to use their initiative and has an excellent attention to detail.
You’ll be an integral part of Clinical Engineering at Southland Hospital so you’ll need to be able to work harmoniously in a team environment whilst remaining focused on patient care excellence.
You’ll bring to us a tertiary qualification in a relevant field, and minimum current registration as “Registered Electrical Appliance Serviceperson” (as required by the Electrical Workers Registration Board). You will need to have a good level of physical fitness due to the nature of the work and a current driver’s licence. Previous experience in the challenging field of Clinical Engineering would be a significant advantage.
