We are looking for an experienced nurse educator with a strong perioperative nursing background to promote, facilitate and provide education to the Perioperative nursing team on a permanent, full time basis

About the opportunity

As a Nurse Educator, you will be accountable for ensuring safe nursing care practice standards and promoting patient focused care. Participating in the recruitment of new nurses, developing and implementing their orientation programme is all part of the job. 

 

A born communicator and collaborator, with the inherent ability to build successful working relationships, this role will see you working alongside nurses, medical colleagues as well as other educators within the wider PDU team to provide practice and professional development opportunities that enhance service delivery, quality and safety alongside improved patient outcomes.

 

About you

You will have considerable post registration experience in nursing, professional credibility in the clinical setting with the confidence and passion for supporting and developing our nurses.  You must have first-rate knowledge of the professional standards and regulations for Nurses plus superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

 

You will be a strong, credible clinical leader with excellent nursing specialty knowledge and impeccable practice standards. It is essential that you are a Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate and either hold or be working towards an appropriate postgraduate qualification. 

 

If you are a networker, a leader and a role model; with recognised teaching, mentoring and coaching skills, have a sound knowledge of Perioperative processes; and you align with Southern DHBs values and objectives then we welcome your interest in joining our team.
