Booking Administrator - Orthopaedics

If you enjoy working in a fast paced and busy environment, then this role could be what you are looking for! Our Orthopaedic Service requires an experienced administrator to hit the ground running and ensure the department’s administrative needs are met on a full time, permanent basis.
About the Role
In this role, you will be ensuring the smooth running of the Orthopaedic bookings by providing an efficient and timely administrative support function that is responsive and flexible to the changing needs of the service / organisation. You will hold a key role within the Orthopaedic Service, maintaining good relationships with the consultants, registrars, nursing staff, management and administration teams – no small feat!
To be successful in this very busy role you will be the kind of person who is flexible, adaptable, robust, and can cope with conflicting priorities and interruptions. You’ll have a friendly and welcoming nature and be comfortable interacting with patients both in person and on the phone.
As an experienced administrator you will also be skilled at juggling multiple priorities, and able to remain calm under pressure. The ability to handle confidential patient information discreetly is also an absolute requirement. You must have a minimum of 2 years clerical administrative experience, knowledge of office systems and procedures, excellent computer skill including knowledge of Microsoft Work, Outlook and in particular Excel.
The salary for this position is based on the PSA Collective Employment agreement, South Island Administrative MECA, salary scale S4 $45,580 - $53,259 per annum (pro rata).
