About the opportunity
Are you patient, kind and able to stay calm under pressure? Do you have a keen eye for detail and the ability to make decisions? Are you interested in scheduling of time and rostering of others? Do you think you have leadership potential and want to grow your skills? This could be just the opportunity you are seeking starting in 2020.
As part of our district-wide RMO Unit team that is focused on the rostering of resident doctors working at Southland Hospital you will manage several rosters and assist Educational Supervisors in supporting prevocational doctors who are beginning their medical careers. As well, you will support the District RMO Unit Manager in their absence and become the ‘go to’ advisor and eyes and ears within the team.
Our ideal applicant
We need someone with excellent proven administration and coordination skills who is ready to manage their own portfolio of work, and is interested in rostering and growing relationships. This is a busy professional office so you will need to enjoy being part of a team that works together as well as independently to achieve team goals. Maybe you are looking for something a bit different where you can apply your outstanding time, process management and leadership skills to great advantage and make a real difference to the health of our communities!
You love meeting deadlines and tend to thrive when the pressure comes on even when you have a number of other activities vying for your attention. Accuracy, judgment and maintaining confidentiality are essential. You will need to learn fast, retain knowledge as well as anticipate roadblocks. The ability to build rapport and trust with fellow employees is also a key aspect of this role as is learning to navigate the two Multi Employer Collective Agreements that govern the terms and conditions of the resident doctors.
If all that sounds exciting then read on because we are open to your background – it might be travel, general admin or team coordination in sales or marketing, or resourcing, or you might be a graduate looking for a role to get your teeth into within the fascinating field of health.
