We are going through a stage of exciting change at Dunedin hospital and have been successful in recently recruiting to two new roles within our team. This means there is some flexibility to the case load you would take but areas of interest would include acute medicine including surgery, renal or general medical. There are also projects that we would love you to be involved in depending on your interests. There could be potential for rotation for the permanent position in the future once roles are recruited to.

These exciting and challenging roles offer variety and will capitalise on your passion for dietetic care across the continuum of healthcare. You will have a focus on improving health literacy and education, as well as your ability to enthuse your patients and motivate real behaviour change. You will work autonomously, and as part of a multi-disciplinary teams, working closely with other health care providers, across a range of settings

About you
You will have clear and open communication skills that allow you to foster positive relationships with patients, whanau and the wider MDT. We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and collaborative team players who are willing to take on new challenges and continue to raise the profile for dietetics. Ideally you will have three or more years post registration clinical experience, including acute care and rehabilitation focus.

The Dunedin Dietetic team offers supervision and ongoing professional development. As a New Zealand Registered Dietitian, holding a current Annual Practicing Certificate with Dietitian Prescriber endorsement you may have a role in supervision of early career dietitians also working in your clinical areas of practice. Teaching and supervision of MDiet students would also depend on experience.

If you are a highly organised and motivated clinical dietitian, who believes in “putting the patient at the centre” we would love to hear from you. Feel free to contact us to discuss potential ways you would fit into our team.
