Cardiac Sonographer / Echocardiographer – Cardiology Department 
Dunedin Hospital

  • Permanent position (or locum vacancy whilst we recruit to the role on a permanent basis)
  • Full time vacancy (40 hours per week)
  • Monday to Friday working hours (*with an on call component)

Are you looking for a new challenge? Southern District Health Board has a very exciting opportunity for you to make your mark. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cardiac Sonographer / Echocardiographer to join our friendly team in Dunedin Hospital on a permanent full-time basis. Please note consideration will also be given to requests for a shorter, or several shorter appointments whilst we recruit to the role on a permanent basis.

About the Service – what’s in it for me?
Dunedin Hospital is the Cardiology / Cardiac Surgery centre for Southern District Health Board. We are fortunate to be able to offer good training opportunities both locally and internationally, as well as maintaining close relations with the prestigious Otago University. The Cardiology Department itself is warm, welcoming and social.
 
About You
The successful candidate must hold a Post-graduate qualification in Cardiac Ultrasound (QUT or DMU), being a Qualified Cardiac Physiologist is also desirable.

  • CPRB / MRTB registration and APC (or ability to obtain)
  • Evidence of ongoing  CPD and self-directed learning
  • Paediatric scanning would be an advantage 
  • This post is ideal for someone who is competent and able to work independently as an echo cardiographer
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills are essential
