Our team in the Perioperative Department seek a self-starter with a can do attitude who enjoys an action packed environment for this physically demanding role as a Theatre Suite Assistant.


About the opportunity

In this important role you’ll help with a range of tasks including:


  • Patient handling and transfers
  • Restocking and setting up of equipment
  • Collecting specimens and blood
  • Cleaning out theatre between cases
  • Other duties include; relief for receptionist and more.


The Perioperative Department operates Monday to Sunday. Your contribution to the unit will ensure that operations run to schedule and are well prepared so that our surgeons and clinical staff are able to perform their magic. The Theatre Suite Assistants are on 8 hour rostered shifts throughout a 24 hour period. The hours are worked Monday to Sunday.


About you

As noted above this is a physically demanding role, e.g. relocating beds/transferring of patients, and as the role title implies, majority of your time will be spent in the main operating theatre. The team is supportive and friendly, and the opportunity to gain great job satisfaction is huge if you enjoy working at a fast pace. 


This position would suit someone (but is not restricted to) with existing hospital experience, however we’re happy to look wider.  Being computer literate is preferred, and full training of our systems will be given.
