About the opportunity
Due to internal promotion we are now accepting applications for our next DAH for the Strategy, Primary & Community Directorate a Southern DHB. This is an exciting permanent, full time, senior leadership position that provides strategic and operational allied health leadership and influence from a professional perspective, as well as providing advice to Managers and Clinicians across the Clinician Management partnership.
Reporting operationally to the Executive Director Strategy Primary and Community and professionally to our new Chief Allied Health Scientific & Technical Officer, this role provides an opportunity to innovate and to positively work with, and support, the Professional Leaders of the allied health, public health, scientific and technical professions across our diverse District. Essential and effective engagement includes the wider clinical, non-clinical and management leaders and staff across the Southern Health System to optimise our people/ whanau and patients’ experience of care and outcomes. This is the opportunity to be a key influencer in the workforce planning and direction required for the implementation of the SDHB Primary and Community Strategy.
Our leadership teams have strength in being supportive and working with the philosophy that each member contributes to the success of the team. We are looking for someone with energy for change and innovation, as well as demonstrated prior success in a senior leadership role along with an up-to-date knowledge of professional practice issues. Strategic agility as well as a commitment to operational excellence will ensure you stand apart and get the buy in from key stakeholders and your peers. Experience and knowledge of the health sector challenges and opportunities as well as the Southern Health System and future models of care would be desirable to take us forward.
As a credible influencer, you will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with people at all levels within the organisation to continue to foster an environment of working together with our people and communities.
It is essential that you are registered with a relevant allied health professional body of New Zealand, or where registration is not available, you are a member of their respective professional association.
