Registered Midwife – Assessment Unit

- Work Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm
Queen Mary Maternity Day Assessment Unit requires a dedicated midwife to ensure women are assessed and reviewed for either midwifery or medical care in a timely manner. This includes primary outreach women who arrive for assessment unannounced. You will be joining a team of midwives who provide hospital and community based services to pregnant and post-partum women from the greater Dunedin area. Referrals come from inpatient areas, private providers and primary care. We have a women-centered approach to our care and you will be making a real difference to the patient experience.
About the opportunity
This is a newly created role based within our Assessment Unit providing care to women who need specialist care but do not need to remain as an inpatient on the ward. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your valuable midwifery skills in a Monday to Friday role.
We are looking for a team focused Registered Midwife with excellent communication and a friendly manner.
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Be a Registered Midwife
- Hold a current annual practicing certificate for New Zealand
- Have excellent communication and the ability to easily build rapport with people from all walks of life
- Be passionate about midwifery and have a real desire to provide the best care possible
