Our Pharmacy Department at Dunedin Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic person to join our friendly and supportive team as a Pharmacy Technician on a permanent, fulltime basis.
The Pharmacy service provides a full clinical and operational service to Dunedin hospital and we also have a full Aseptic Production Unit. We provide a wide range of clinical services encompassing both generalist and specialist skills so there is no better place to move your career forward. About the Role – what’s in it for me?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pharmacy technician to join our team to assist in our hospital pharmacy dispensary.
The role will include stock control, ward supply, in and out patient dispensing, sterile, cytotoxic and non-sterile compounding and assisting in the general day to day running of the dispensary. The role will be 40 hours, Monday to Friday (as well as a rostered Saturday morning 9-12).
Hospital experience is preferred although not essential and you will possess strong time management, planning, and organisational skills. Naturally, you will be an excellent communicator and strong team player. We are looking for someone who picks things up quickly, can perform in an accurate and precise manner and works well within a diverse environment.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
- Appropriate New Zealand recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification (or working towards)
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
- Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
- The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
