Booking Administrator – Ophthalmology Outpatients
- Permanent, full time (40 hours per week)
- Tuesday to Saturday position
We have a vacancy in our administration team for an experienced administrator, with extensive experience in customer service, a keen eye for detail and who thrives in working in an ever-changing environment.
About the Role
Our 12 doctors, optometrist, orthoptist and nurses all need their clinics to run smoothly, efficiently and are booked to a high standard, hence where you attention to detail needs to shine. You will be sixth member of the team, overseen by a supervisor to help you with any problems you have in your day-to-day job to ensure that the needs of the multi-disciplinary team are met.
As part of the eye department administration booking team, you will be responsible for the booking of patient appointments. This is a busy role as around 120-180 patients a day come through our doors for a variety of reasons. Your key role will be ensuring the clinicians clinics are full, well-coordinated and that the patients are put at the centre of what you do. That may be ensuring that the rural patient has the ability to get to the appointment on time, or what impact does an appointment have on a young family – we need patient focused applicants that thrive on the dynamic nature of the eye department.
The salary range for this position is from $43,580 to $51,259 (pro rata) and will be based on qualifications and experience. This role is a Tuesday to Saturday position.
We would like to hear from people that love getting stuck in to the hard work, can think of different ways of working and can share their ideas or experiences from other positions with the wider team. Additionally, it would be advantageous to have a keen interest in health care, have experience in ophthalmology (desirable, but not essential), and have strong and proven abilities within an administration environment with at least 2-3 years’ experience. Lastly, you will be positive, reliable, team player, with a great work ethic and excellent communication skills
If you are used to the phones always ringing, managing multiple priorities, file management, juggling multiple pressures at once, we’d love to hear from you! Please highlight in your application how you’ve been able to prioritise, multi task and work well under pressure in previous roles you’ve held.
