Theatre Booking Administrator – ENT

If you enjoy working in a fast paced and busy environment then this role could be what you are looking for! Our ENT department requires an experienced administrator to hit the ground running and work hard to ensure the department’s administrative needs are met on a permanent, full time basis.
About the Role
In this role you’ll be ensuring the smooth running of the ENT surgical theatre bookings by providing efficient and timely administrative support function that is responsive and flexible to the changing needs of the ENT department. The main purpose of the role is to ensure patients are booked for their surgery in an efficient and coordinated way, within the timeframes indicated by the surgeon and maintain effective oversight of our surgical performance indicators. You will hold a key role within the ENT department maintaining good relationships with the consultants, registrars, nursing staff, management and administration teams – no small feat!
To be successful in this very busy role you will be the kind of person who is flexible, adaptable, robust and can cope with conflicting priorities and interruptions. You’ll have a friendly and welcoming nature and be comfortable interacting with patients both in person and on the phone.
As an experienced administrator you will also be skilled at juggling multiple priorities and able to remain calm under pressure. The ability to handle confidential patient information discreetly absolute requirement. You must have a minimum of 2 years clerical administrative experience, knowledge of office systems and procedures, excellent computer skill including knowledge of Microsoft Work, Outlook and in particular Excel.
The salary for this position is based on the PSA Collective Employment agreement, South Island Administrative Mecca, salary scale S4 between $47,580 and $55,259 per annum and will be based on relevant experience and qualifications.
