About You / About the Role

We are for a suitably qualified and experienced Mental Health Professional to fill this role working with children and adolescents (and their families), with mental health difficulties. If you have experience in the provision of psychotherapy on an individual or group basis and you’re passionate with an unwavering belief in people’s recovery - then you might just be the one for us!

You’ll work with a broad-based generic caseload, utilising your mental health experience with excellent assessment and intervention skills.  As someone committed to the MDT approach with a focus on excellent service delivery, you’ll also appreciate that we offer ongoing tailored professional development specific to our Mental Health team. Naturally you’ll have the ability to work under pressure as a team player committed to excellence in service delivery.  

Ideally you will have experience in working with children and adolescent in a mental health setting, however if you have an interest in this area we would also like to hear from you.

You must be a Registered Health Professional, with a current APC - Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist with experience working within a mental health sector, be eligible to live and work in New Zealand and hold a current NZ Drivers licence.

About the Southern DHB

We are responsible for planning, funding and providing health and disability services to a population of over 315,000 located South of the Waitaki River. Our catchment area encompasses Invercargill City, Queenstown - Lakes District, Gore, rural Southland, Clutha, Central Otago, Maniototo, Waitaki District and Dunedin City.
