About the Team

The Southern DHB Child Adolescent and Family Service and is a specialised out-patient service providing comprehensive assessment and treatment for children (aged 0-13 years) in the Otago area.


About You

You’ll be a team player with excellent communication skills with an interest in working within a child and family mental health service.  

You’ll have a background in administration positions that demonstrate your ability to prioritise and juggle tasks, and be able to provide essential support for our departmental staff. Duties for this role include typing, collating data for reports, maintaining patient files, reception and other duties as needed. 

In this role you’ll interact with both internal and external service users, therefore a courteous professional manner is essential when dealing with children and family remaining  sensitive and confidential with information. Excellent computer skills are essential and some database experience using iPM would be preferred.

To enjoy the Secretary position you’ll be the kind of person who likes a fast paced and varied work environment. You need to be patient-focussed as you will be dealing with many enquiries from the public.

Our ideal candidate will have at least 2 years clerical administration experience, with a typing speed of at least 60 words per minute, as well as proven dictaphone typing skills and confident knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.


The salary range for this position is $49,580 - $57,259 per annum and will be based on experience and skills.
