About the Role / About You

We are looking for a positive and confident registered nurse who has the drive and enthusiasm to motivate staff and engage them in their clinical development; you will be a respected professional in your own right, and an exceptional team member with strong communication skills.


The role will provide Nursing and Operational support, leadership and management primarily to Nursing staff on ward 9B with an expectation of being available to provide input and advice to all members of the clinical team as required as well as an expectation to assist from time to time with afterhours support and input. 

The role will also deputise for the Charge Nurse Manager where and when require, and serve to model mental health nursing care based on theoretical knowledge and experience of acute mental health along with an ability to work with and supervise Nurses and Health Care Assistants.

There is also an expectation to continually develop one’s own knowledge and skill to enhance practice and contribution to the team on ward 9b.

You will also be involved in maintaining the ongoing development of ward programmes within a SafeWards frame work.


In addition to your Registered Nurse qualifications and registration (Active APC) you will also have post graduate qualifications (relevant to mental health), at a minimum a diploma, (or working towards).
