About the opportunity

We are offering a unique opportunity to work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team at Lakes District Hospital. The successful candidate will work in a case management capacity and will be responsible for the delivery of supportive Social Work services to patients of the department.


About you

You should have the ability to work autonomously, but also be a team player and be able to communicate effectively with a variety of people. This role also requires someone who can think on their feet and remain calm under pressure.

You will require excellent written and oral communication skills, needs assessment skills, networking skills, advocacy skills, critical thinking skills and you will have the ability to support and empower the patient and the family / whanau to reach their goals. Previous experience in health related Social Work will be an added advantage.

It is essential that you hold a professional social worker qualification (as per Social Worker Registration Board schedules for registration eligibility i.e. Bachelor’s degree equivalent) and be Registered and hold a current annual practicing certificate with Social Work Registration Board (SWRB) within 3 months of appointment. A current full drivers’ licence is required.
