Description

Physiotherapist - Inpatient Medical and Acute Stroke

Dunedin

  • Experienced or senior clinician
  • Full-time, permanent

About you

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist (minimum 4 years’ experience) to join our inpatient Allied Health Team. The position will cover the Acute Stroke Unit, Internal Medicine and Oncology/Haematology wards, and is a fantastic environment in which to further develop transferrable skills. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic team-player, who can support staff within the team to develop the services and provide first-class care to our patients.

This role requires experience in an inpatient setting, preferably with experience in neurological and/stroke presentations, to ensure that you can work effectively and autonomously in a fast-paced ward environment. You must be confident with being responsible for a team of physiotherapists working in this area whilst managing your own caseload and be able to draw on your clinical experience and evidence-based practice to support staff and students with complex patient situations. Teaching is a central part of this role, as there will be multiple opportunities to present to the Allied Health, nursing, and medical teams.

This is a rare opportunity to gain experience in such a wide range of specialities, supported by our highly experienced and approachable multidisciplinary team, and provide positive change on the wards.
