Health Care Assistants – District Nursing
- 2x positions available
- Permanent, 0.3FTE evening service position (evening hours – 12 per week)
- Casual evening service position (flexible on ‘as and when required’ basis)
An exciting opportunity exists for two Healthcare Assistants to work alongside our District Nurses in the dynamic, challenging and constantly changing environment of Community Nursing.
About the Roles
Under the direction of the senior nurse on shift, you will work alongside a District Nurse accompanying them with valuable and rewarding patient care in the community. Duties will include clerical duties, restocking and ordering of supplies and general duties to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Our service is supportive, friendly and is committed to high standards of service. District Nursing is looking to appoint a part-time Health Care Assistant to its evening service (rostered duties 6:00pm – 10:00pm, 4 - 6 evenings per fortnight, Monday to Sunday), and also a casual Health Care Assistant to be available on a casual ‘as and when required’ flexible basis, also for the evening shifts (6:00pm -10:00pm, Monday to Sunday).
We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with strong administration skills and previous health care experience, and from those who are dynamic, friendly and can demonstrate a high level of initiative. You will be committed to high standards of practice, be well organised and have excellent communication skills.
It is important that candidates are motivated, flexible, have a level of maturity about them and of course plenty of enthusiasm. Experience working with people in a caring capacity is also essential, whether than experience is gained from within a professional environment, or from caring for children or family members.
Experience within a community setting is not essential, but would be an advantage, and a full, clean driver’s licence is essential.
Please let us know in your covering letter why you would be suitable for this rewarding role, and which position/s you are interested in being considered for.
