About us and the opportunity
Southland Hospital is a modern, bright facility that services a population base of 108,000. As a secondary level base hospital, our staff enjoy a broad range of cases which provide good opportunities to gain wide experience and exposure to clinical cases.
We have a small, friendly team of technicians that work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary Perioperative team. We encourage a team-focused approach to the service we deliver and excellent time management and decision-making skills are essential as well as the ability to work under pressure.
We are looking for an Anaesthetic Technician with strong observational and crisis management skills; ability to exhibit maturity and professionalism at all times; working to ensure the needs of the clients and the Anaesthetist are balanced. Naturally you’ll be an outstanding team player with great organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
Invercargill gives you everything you’d want from a city hospital, with a modern work environment, interesting work and a range of specialties, but there’s a small hospital with collegial feel to it. You’ll be on first-name terms with all the staff, including the doctors. Invercargill is a lovely city for families, with affordable housing and excellent education and adventure opportunities. Surrounded by beautiful scenery many of New Zealand’s major tourist destinations, (ski fields, national parks, vineyards) and hidden treasures are on Southlands doorstep. Life is easy without a major commute. And you’ll get free onsite parking.
If all that sounds good, there’s no better time – or place – to make the next move in your career. You’ll get a warm Southern welcome, and we might be biased, but we reckon there’s no better place in New Zealand
