Based in the Community Nursing Service, at Wakari Hospital, the role of Oncology/Haematology District Nurse is both busy and challenging but also extremely rewarding. The position involves providing community nursing care and support for medical oncology, radiation oncology and haematology patients receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Some of the key nursing tasks are: comprehensive patient assessment; symptom control and management; patient education; psychosocial assessment and support.
This role is also key to the future development of the service, building links within both primary and secondary care and staff education and support.

The Successful Applicant will have:
- Three years post registration experience
- Excellent communication skills
- A Professional Portfolio in progress
Oncology/Haematology experience is required, as will be a full, clean driver’s license
