About the opportunity
Ward 3 Surgical is a 54-bed specialist surgery ward covering Acute and Elective Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Rheumatology, ENT, Ophthalmology and Maxillofacial areas. As our Ward Administration Officer, you will be carrying out administrative and reception duties and providing essential support for the Ward’s clinical staff. Your main duties will include reception, answering phones, assisting with co-ordination of patient flow, arranging outpatient bookings and ensuring all patients clinical records are available and prepared correctly.
You will be required to work 3.30 – 7.30 on Monday, Thursday and Friday plus 8 hours on Sunday. Extra hours to provide cover for leave may also be available.
To be successful in this very busy role you will be the kind of person who is flexible, adaptable and enjoys working in a dynamic team environment. You’ll have a friendly and welcoming nature and be comfortable interacting with patients both in person and on the phone. As you’ll be dealing with patient information the ability to be discrete is an absolute requirement. Our ideal candidate looks to take ownership of their work and understands department and organisational priorities as well as the ability to multi-task.

The salary range for this position is from $46,894 - $48,740 per annum (pro rata) and will be based on qualifications and relevant experience.
