As an Orthopaedic Registrar at Southland Hospital you will be part of a dedicated team providing comprehensive elective general orthopaedic services, as well as 24-hour Orthopaedic Trauma and Orthopaedic Emergency care. You will also have the opportunity to undertake regular outpatient clinics in Queenstown.
The scope of your work will be varied and will include exposure to a range of subspecialties including:
- Trauma surgery
- Joint replacement
- Spinal surgery
- Paediatric Orthopaedics
- Foot and Ankle Surgery
- Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Surgery
- Occupational Medicine
- Upper Limb Surgery
Our training programme is accredited by the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association as part of its Advanced Orthopaedic Training Programme.

To be eligible to apply for this role, you must possess a keen interest in the area of Orthopaedic Surgery and have a minimum of 2 years post graduate medical experience (preferably including at least 6 months in Orthopaedics).
