Technical Architect / Team Leader

  • Looking for that next challenge?
  • Shape our future, and yours
  • Dunedin or Invercargill based

Here at Southern DHB, we’re undergoing significant transformation, as we work towards the goal of becoming a clinically and financially sustainable organisation, supporting our district.  We’re working very hard to provide high quality health and disability services so we’re highly focused on bringing in the right people with the appropriate experience and skills, to turn our strategic goals into reality.

With leadership responsibilities across the infrastructure team, it is essential that you bring your passion for working in IT and engaging leadership style to drive this team forward.  You’ll be responsible for not only working hands on driving infrastructure and network standards, unravelling systems and looking at improvements for future state, designing network and service solutions, developing IS business continuity plans, but also having a leadership component to your role. Mobility solutions will be designed and implemented with the end user in mind, seeking feedback on experiences and making improvements where necessary. You’ll work alongside the Information Security Officer and Solution Architect. The challenge for you to embrace is to establish the technical architecture capability in our organisation and shape it going forward.

Ideally you’ll come to the role with experience in design and infrastructure or network engineering, you’ll either already lead a team or you will be looking for the next step in your career. A qualification in IT or similar is advantageous but not essential if you have prior experience. Being able to build relationships and talk to employees across all levels of the organisation is something that should be done with ease.

The Southern district offers the benefits of excellent amenities, first class primary through to tertiary education, affordable housing and outstanding recreational opportunities.  Dunedin has a small city feel, with a high energy vibe.  So whether it surfing, kayaking or sailing; skiing, hunting or fishing; theatre, live-music or art – there’s literally something for everyone.  Please note that travel throughout our district will be a requirement with this position.

Closing date for applications: Sunday 30 July 2017
