Senior Physiotherapist-A T & R Service

Inpatient Rehabilitation, Dunedin Hospital

  • Permanent fulltime position

Picture this….You’re a NZ registered physiotherapist working in a supportive and friendly team environment, committed to quality patient centred care and at the same time having fun.  On weekends you have an array of outdoor and recreational pursuits such as skiing, water-sports and tramping, just a short drive from your doorstep!!

Sounds appealing??..... Then come and join us!

Working in dynamic and evolving inpatient interdisciplinary teams within the services covering older people’s health and rehabilitation, you'll work alongside other senior physiotherapists, allied health professionals and nurses in planning and providing treatment and rehabilitation to our patients.

You'll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and expertise in older people’s rehabilitation, medical and neurological conditions and neuro-rehabilitation physiotherapy as you promote patient recovery and function.  You will also have the opportunity to support, teach and upskill students, new graduates and rotational staff.

As a senior, ideally you will bring to us a minimum of 5 years physiotherapy experience that includes working in a rehabilitation inpatient setting with patients with stroke and other neurological conditions.  Experience with the frail elderly and orthopaedic conditions is also an advantage. You would be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of optimising patient outcomes and facilitating effective discharge planning, using a patient centred and evidence based approach to goal setting and intervention.

In addition to the experience you bring us, you will have enthusiasm and a willingness to commit to our team and patients. You will be expected to be active in service quality initiatives, therefore be proactive, innovative and have a quality driven leadership approach.

For this permanent role covering the service, including weekend and on-call roster work, you will need to be a New Zealand registered physiotherapist with a current annual practising certificate.

Closing Date: Sunday, 3 September 2017
