Service Manager- Perioperative & ICU Services

Over the next few years as our hospital enters a re-build phase this is your opportunity to play a big part in the challenge of shaping the future of the Perioperative and ICU service. This role is a key position at the hospital as the theatre services run at its heart.
This is a leadership opportunity based in the Dunedin Hospital Surgical Services and Radiology Directorate to manage and drive a large multi-disciplinary team across Perioperative services which includes Operating Theatres, Intensive Care Unit, Anaesthetics Post Anaesthetic Care Unit, Clinical Engineering, Sterile Services, Trauma Coordination and the Pain Service.
No two day’s will be the same as you will be working alongside the Nurse manager of ICU and Perioperative Services, managing a high performing team who value patient centred care. Your responsibilities are focused on strategic planning and the overall operational process management of a number of services, which will align with the clinical management partnership team. You’ll be involved in leading effective capacity and demand service delivery, including using lean methodology to manage financial performance, activity and production planning, quality improvement and risk management, certification and accreditation, clinical pathway development and streamlining other systems and processes within the services.
Your resilience, systematic approach to your work, sound people management and relationship building skills coupled with and understanding of the perioperative environment will see you thrive in this busy and pivotal role. Significant experience in a theatres at a management level position is desirable as well as experience working in the health sector.
