Registered Nurse – Mental Health for Older People (ward 6C)
- Fixed term position for up to 6 months
- 1 FTE (80 hours per fortnight)
The Southern DHB now has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse within the Mental Health for Older People Ward (6C), on a fixed term basis for up to 6 months from November 2017. We are an acute unit with 12 beds for people over 65 years of age.
A strong knowledge base is essential to meeting the challenge of caring for older people in a mental health environment. You will also need to have high standards of competence and performance, and enjoy the challenge of working with patients in this setting. While previous mental health experience is preferred, but not essential.
We are seeking someone who is warm, empathetic, responsive and highly attuned to the emotions, needs and motivations of older people. It goes without saying you will be a Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate.
