An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Midwife to move into a coordination and leadership role in the Southland Maternity Unit on a part-time, fixed term basis, commencing November 2017 and ending on or before the end of January, 2018.


We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to support the Charge Midwife Manager in providing clinical co-ordination and midwifery leadership within the Maternity Unit at Southland Hospital.  This position will provide the appointee with the opportunity to manage the clinical environment, facilitate staff development and at the same time enhance management skills.


The successful applicant must have extensive and recent clinical experience in the core Midwifery setting, and be comfortable working in partnership with existing leadership to ensure exemplary patient care.  You must hold a current APC and preferably a relevant post-graduate qualification. The ability to inspire and motivate others to commit to, and work towards the organisation/service goals is also essential.


Please note this role is open to current Southern DHB employees only.
